The rules — as played

  1. 01

    Setup

Two teams of two to four players share one room with at least three pieces of furniture. Mount or place a basket at one end of the room and agree on its position before play. One plush duck is the only ball.

  1. 02

    Objective

Score buckets by completing three furniture tags in a single possession and then shooting the duck into the basket. The first team to 11 buckets wins.

How it's played

  1. 03

    Furniture tags

While in possession, the attacking team must tag three distinct pieces of furniture with the duck in hand before a shot may be attempted. The same furniture item may not be tagged twice in one possession. Tags reset whenever possession changes.

  2. 04

    Shot clock

Each possession, the shooting team has 15 seconds from the first tag to attempt a duck shot. If the clock expires, possession changes.

  3. 05

    Turnovers

Possession changes when the defense intercepts or strips the duck, when a shot misses and the defense recovers it, or when the shot clock expires. On any turnover the tag count resets to zero.

  1. 06

    The duck shot

After the third tag, the team in possession may shoot the duck at the basket from anywhere in the room. Any duck that ends up in the basket counts for one bucket, regardless of bounces. After a bucket, possession changes.

  1. 07

    No basket camping

A defender may not station themselves within arm's reach of the basket while the attacking team has three tags. Violation: the attacking team is awarded an uncontested duck shot.

  1. 08

    Winning

First team to 11 buckets wins. Win by two: at 10–10 and beyond, play continues until one team leads by two buckets.
