drawn from 3 rules

  • Objective
    objective

The offense starts every drive at the twenty and has four downs to score a touchdown. Touchdowns are worth seven. First team to twenty-eight points wins.

  • Four downs, no first downs
    play

Every drive is four downs from the twenty. There are no first downs and no yardage to gain — the only way to keep the ball is to score. A down ends when the ball carrier is touched, when a pass hits the ground, or when the ball carrier steps out of bounds. A ball that touches the ground is dead where the previous down started; the offense does not keep its yardage between downs — every down snaps from the twenty.

  • Turnovers
    play

Possession flips immediately on an interception or when the offense fails to score in four downs. There are no run-backs: an interception is dead the moment it is caught. Either way, the new offense starts its own drive at the twenty, attacking the same endzone.
